The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE-RME) wanted to produce material that would help tell the story of "the world's largest machine" (VSM) - the European power system. This very complex system needed to be made accessible and understandable through visual and narrative storytelling.

Our goal was to give the viewer a clear understanding of the connections between the many different factors that make up the power system. The film is targeted towards journalists, politicians, the professional environment and the general public.

The production of the film itself was built upon existing profile elements, which were developed and supplemented where necessary to expand upon and support the narrative of the film. The result is a factual and profile-bearing film that fulfills an essential communication need at NVE, but also the start of a larger visual communication universe that will eventually cover many other fields.
